saving citations/error number 318372713

when I save a page to the library it stays for about 5 seconds and then deletes it. I know that it's not the storage, because I erased everything from my last project. I uninstalled zotero and reinstalled it, checked for updates, and the problem is still there.

  • when I save a page to the library
    Could you elaborate a bit more? Where are you saving from? How are you saving? Where are you saving to (Zotero in Firefox, Zotero Standalone, zotero.org)?
    it stays for about 5 seconds and then deletes it
    Is the "it" here a Zotero item? A Zotero attachment?
  • I am saving them (websites, pdfs, googlebook reviews, googlescholar entries) from academic sites like JSTOR, googlescholar, and my library at BU: Mugar, official website) with and without attachments. I use the zotero tab on my firefox browser. I was doing this in the same way before and there was no trouble. But now when I do the same thing it doesn't permanently include the entry in my library.
  • Can you provide a debug ID for one save attempt, starting with you clicking the URL bar icon to the item disappearing from your library?
  • I followed the instructions for the debug ID. I'm not sure what you mean by the URL bar icon to the item disappearing from the library. I did end up clicking that to save the item. Is that what you meant? Here is the debug ID if you need it. D1472126172
  • I'm not sure what you mean by the URL bar icon to the item disappearing from the library.
    That's what we understand you're seeing: You click the URL bar icon, say on JSTOR, you see the article appearing briefly in Zotero, then it disappears. Is that not right?
    We'd need the debug to be enabled for the time that covers those things.
  • Yes, that is what happens. I sent the Debug ID. Did that work? I disabled the debug after I sent it. Should I not have sent that?
  • Dan will have to look at the debug output.
    @Dan - anything in there?

    I'd guess that you have some other Zotero-related extension installed that's deleting the items automatically.
  • @Dan - there's an error report at the top--any guesses which add-on would cause this? First time I'm hearing of this.
  • "Zotero-to-BibDesk auto-import utility", I'd guess. Looks like it has a setting to do this.
