Cannot download Zotero add on for Firefox

I am currently running Firefox 33.1.1. I was unable to update the Zotero Standalone extension 4.0.22 that I have to the most recent on the zotero website. When I go to https://www.zotero.org/download/ and try and download an updated extension this is the message I get: "The add on could not be downloaded because of a connection failure on www.zotero.org" I have tried the same procedure on another computer and have the same error message. However, when I use the add on for Chrome, everything works fine. Don't know what to do except maybe uninstall FF and install again?

Don't don any uninstalls/reinstalls, hardly ever helps & won't in this case.

When you click on the lock at the left of the URL bar on this page, what does it say (after "Verfied by" in particular).

It says:
"You are connected to zotero.org"
"Verified by Bitdefender"
"The connection to this website is secure"

Then there is a ? and "More Information..." button.

I recently installed Bitdefender 2015 about six weeks ago.

Thanks Dan. I didn't realize this feature came with the new BD and will disable it.

It does, but this is happening frequently enough now (due to our switching to HSTS, maybe) that it might merit a link on the download page. Really we should probably link to the the Installation instructions, which could include a link to the KB entry (and which could probably be cleaned up and pared down a bit itself).
