.csl file for Applied Optics

I created a .csl file for Applied Optics. I'm brand new at this and I don't know how to upload it to the repository, but if anyone wants it, I'd be happy to share. It seems to work, with only a few caveats:

1) Journal abbreviations aren't consistent or correct. Applied Optics is abbreviated, but without periods (App Opt instead of App. Opt.) and other journal titles aren't abbreviated.

2) The only "exception" is for books, all other citations are in the format for articles. Additions welcome.

3) I don't know how to make quotes around the title, so for books, I used two single quotes.

    Do you know how to use subversion?

    There is no way to handle this currently. (Although this is a great example of how abbreviations, themselves, are style-specific & CSL will one day need to address this issue.)

    Use something like:
    <text macro="title" quotes="true"/>
  • Thanks. I don't know how to use subversion.

    If you anticipate making more styles (or will change this style), you should consider learning subversion (it is not difficult & I might be able to offer suggestions if you say what OS you use).

    If this is the only style that you plan to make, you can either:
    • Upload it to Trac
    • Upload it to the dev group
    • E-mail it to me
    • Past it here, in a <code/> block
    (The zotero devs would probably accept it by email too, but I don't want to volunteer their services.)
  • Noksagt, I have TortoiseSVN on my PC, but I'm a bit at a loss as to where to upload the styles I've made.
  • mark: See Get Involved at the bottom of the styles page for details.

    Feel free to ask (in a new thread, probably) if you have any SVN questions.
