Deleted group library still appears in app after synching

Hi all. Just wondering what this glitch might be about:

I (owner) deleted a group library on Zotero.org over 36 hours ago. When I log in to Zotero.org now, the library is gone, and it no longer appears for other (ex)group members. However, it--along with all its contents!--is still sitting there in my Zotero standalone library.

Is this normal? How can I get rid of it? Thanks for your help!

  • Have you successfully synced since the deletion?
  • How about now?
  • It's gone. Who are you and what did you do!!!
  • Seriously though, that's awesome. Thanks!
  • Quick question if you have a sec: Another group member and I currently both merging duplicates from the same library at the same time. We keep getting alerts and prompts for conflict resolutions. How can we make that stop? Are we being bad Zotero users by doing this?
  • Do you have autosync turned on? That should minimize that. Also, make sure that your system times on your computer are set correctly.
  • Re: the group issue, the current group-deleting sync code might be a little more sensitive to very unlucky timing issues than the rest of the sync code. We should be fixing that in the new syncing architecture in the next major version of Zotero. Sorry for the trouble.

Thanks for the feedback gents. Yeah, it's pretty annoying though I don't know to what extent the problems are on our end rather than Zotero's. None of us are particularly tech-y unfortunately.

Is there a way to calibrate the sensitivity of the duplicate detection? We went through the whole duplicates list and are still left with 100s of (to human eyes) very obvious duplicates. (edit: including identical titels)

    Thanks again!
  • No calibration, but you can start a new thread and provide some examples and we can see if the detection can be improved. (you can obviously merge these manually without the automatic detection though. Select -> right-click -> Merge)
