Zotero standalone crashes when trying to drag and drop pdf and indexing them.

Hello,
I use zotero standalone 4.0.17 on windows 7. I have had trouble indexing some documents before but since I had the same issue on my netbook that runs on ubuntu, I figured the pdfs I was trying to index were somehow corrupted.

Now, I have tried to drag and drop some pdf files in my library, that made zotero crash. I have tried indexing some other and it made it crash as well.

Windows then says XULrunner is not answering.

This is the id of the report : 1525476129.

I don't know what else information I could or should put up here... Thanks for helping! :)
  • How many PDFs at once? It's very well possible that Zotero would freeze for a while when you add a large number of PDFs at once.
  • I tried that, even just one makes it freeze.
  • And it also starts using a lot of CPU, like it did before when it would not index the pdf.
  • You can run Zotero with real-time debug output to see if it's actually doing anything. If not, copy the last 100 or so lines from the output and send them to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread.
  • Thank you Dan Stillman, I'm going to do that.
  • When I am opening Zotero it freezes while charging my libraries. When I try to close it an error message pops up : XULRunner does not answer.
  • jpcollet: Start a new thread.
  • @jpcollet - most likely just a large sync download. Let it run for a while even if it looks frozen. If that doesn't help, start a new thread, please, with exactly what's happening and your version number and operating system.
  • I was successful. Thanks for the support. best
