Is there a way to batch edit prefixes?

I've got a couple hundred citation prefixes that contain the word "Tlicho" and I need to change it to "Tłı̨chǫ". Is there a way to search and replace these? I can do it with word's search and replace function but would rather do it with zotero so I can maintain the formatting when zotero is refreshed.

Thanks!
  • No, sorry, not currently possible. If you're up to the challenge (and have some programming experience) you could edit this directly in the database
  • Wait, maybe I'm wrong. What do you mean by "citation prefixes"? The prefixes you enter in Word when inserting a citation?

Yeah. when I make a citation with the plugin for Word. I've got bunch that look like:

(John Doe [Tlicho] in Wek’èezhìi Renewable Resources Board 2010c:207)
(Adam Doe [Tlicho] in Sangris 2012:77)

And I want them to look like:

(John Doe [Tłı̨chǫ] in Wek’èezhìi Renewable Resources Board 2010c:207)
(Adam Doe [Tłı̨chǫ] in Sangris 2012:77)

    prefixes in bold

You _can_ batch replace these using Word's Find & Replace, but you should first display field codes by pressing Alt+F9. Now perform the search and replace. After it's done, toggle field codes again (Alt+F9), then switch to a different citation style and back to the style you were using.

(edit: to be clear, the prefixes/suffixes are not actually stored in Zotero, but only in the document)
  • Awesome.

    THANK YOU!
