Modify Chicago Manual of Style 16th edition (author-date) to use Colon as prefix before pages

Hello I am looking for a modified Chicago Manual of Style 16th edition (author-date) to use colon as prefix before pages:

For a direct quotation, cite author, year, colon, and page number(s); e.g., (Krebs 1989:216) or (John Doe in Simpson 2002:23-24).

I've tried playing with the CSL editor but keep getting the message that the resulting file is invalid. Can someone point the the fields I need to change or show me where I can find a CSL that matches this format?

Thank you!
  • how closely does this have to match Chicago? Try American Sociological Association if you just need something reasonably close.
  • That works for replacing the comma with a colon but the result of the above example is:

    (John Doe inSimpson 2002:23-24)

    And et al. isn't italicized.
  • it looks like this is moot now, correct?

  • correct.

Looking for a way to close the discussion.
  • no need to close it
