CSL works in Windows but not Mac

I've modified the author-date variant of the Chicago style such that et al is italicized and there is a colon instead of a comma before the page number in the citation. The result:

(Accadia et al. 2012:45)

The functionality is normal on my Windows computer but not on my co-worker's Mac. His result is:

(Accadia et al. 2012)

But only when he adds new citations. Citations that I have made maintain their intended formatting.
  • this looks like your co-workers simply hasn't added a page number?
beyond that, please put the style up as a public gist on gist.github.com (no registration needed) or any other page that allows me to look at it without downloading.
  • And he is adding page numbers. They just don't show up in the citation.
  • After using it a bit longer I am seeing that I am getting the same issue in Windows. It's just that it is occurring intermittently on my computer.
  • In line 372 you changed locator to page:

that's incorrect. "page" is the page range of the item in Zotero.
"locator" is the page number you insert via the word processor plugin. It's called "locator" because you can also choose other things like chapter, column, etc.
  • Thanks!

Almost there. The result now gets me the result:

    (Accadia et al. 2012, :45)

How do I remove the comma and space after the date?
  • you must have changed something else in the style-the comma would be there when modifying Chicago (author-date) because of a group delimiter (so do check there, in the citation section) but it's not in your modified versin.
  • Seems I was just being impatient. We are working on a 100 page document with a tonne of citations. Changing the styles seems to work on most of the citations on the first pass but after it has refreshed a second time everything looks good!

    Thanks for your help!
