Problems after Computer death

Dear all,

I am having some problems with my phd dissertation file (to be submitted very soon, eeek!) after my macAir died. First of all, when I installed Zotero on my new mac, the library was missing loads of entries.

question one: do I need to re-enter these in order to get a proper bibliography in the end? or is the relevant information stored in the document, too?

Additionally, the "refresh" button does not seem to work, the quotations remain as they are and I got this error code:

Ein Fehler ist beim Update Ihres Dokuments aufgetreten. (an error has occurred while updating your document)

Zotero.Cite.System.retrieveItem called on non-item 135

Could anyone explain to me how I can fix this? It is really quite bad timing...

thank you so much for your help....
very gratefully,
Hannah

Do you remember what version of Zotero you were running? If it was in the 4.x series, do you remember whether you had turned off embedding of references in the document? It would have said something like:
    Literaturangaben im Dokument speichen

Oh, and the simpler question: were your libraries synced and up-to-date on zotero.org?
  • Hello!
So, I think I was mainly using the version that you open inside the firefox browser at the bottom. I am not sure now if it was synced, it seems plausible that it wasn't. Is this something one has to do manually? I think I foolishly assumed it was stored on the server no matter what.

I am pretty sure the quotations are saved in my document!

    Best!
    Hannah
