Immidiate error with syncing

Report ID 682992899.

I am getting a file sync error at the very beginning of every sync attempt.

"The Zotero sync server did not accept your username and password.
Please check that you have entered your zotero.org login information correctly in the Zotero sync preferences."

The problem is that I changed a password! On Zotero server and forums I am logging in with a new password without any problems. But when I am trying to open "preferences"--> "sync" and to insert the new password in the respective field, Zotero refuses to accept it. My old pass was consisting of 6 digits, while the new one is of 20 characters. However, every time opening "preferences" again I see that Zotero still remembers my old 6 ch password!
I was deleting Zotero and reinstalling it. Clearing forms and history in Firefox. Removing and installing Firefox with another language. Nothing helps! Every time Zotero is trying to put my old password and does not want to sync.
Being Professor and having a huge scientific library, I need your urgent help as I can not work without Zotero.
Thank you in advance!
  • Zotero doesn't show you the length of an existing password — the dots there are the same for everyone. When Zotero says that the username or password are incorrect, it almost always just means exactly that.

Try clearing both fields completely, disabling all your other Firefox extensions and restarting Firefox, and reentering your credentials in the Sync pane.
