Upgrade Storagegetting started - mac
I want to add items to my library from within my browser. I am on a MacBook Air. 10.7.5. There is a red "Z" in my dock. That application is not running, though. Instead I have Firefox open, and I can see my Zotero library. But there is no little red "Z" button visible anywhere in the firefox window. Furthermore, there is no dark grey Z showing near the top of the screen next to the grey star/arrow/house icons. What step am I missing?

adamsmithIt doesnt' sound like you have the Zotero add-on actually _installed_ in Firefox. Do you? You can check under add-ons--> extensions. Else, install from zotero.org/download -- this is separate from the Standalone application, which you clear have installed.

jdelapp88Thanks for your patience with a newbie. I "installed the add-on" and there is now a gray "Z" in my firefox window. Onward!

aurimasJust want to make sure that when you installed Zotero for Firefox you selected to share the data directory with Zotero Standalone. See https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/sharing_data_directory#how_do_i_know_if_my_data_directories_are_shared to confirm.
