installation failed on mac

Hi,
I've just tried downloading and installing zotero on my MacBook Pro with Firefox 3.0.3.
Download went fine, but I can't seem to install it; nothing happens.
Have restarted the computer as well.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    If you're still unable to figure it out, you'll need to be a bit more specific about what's (not) happening.

    Not sure what to tell you.
    I tried the regular download instructions, then the download the 1.0.7.xpi file to the desktop, and dragging it into firefox.
    I get the download. It restarts firefox, but then there is no zotero icon appearing nor can you ctrl click to save something to zotero.
    It's like nothing happened or the actual installation failed.
    Sorry to be a relative non-techie...

    Did it ask you at any point if you wanted to install Zotero?

    If you go to Tools->Add-ons, is Zotero listed?

    I don't recall it asking if I wanted to install it specifically. Sorry...
    If I go to tools, Zotero is listed--but not under the add-ons as a subdirectory.
    (It is Web Search
    Downloads
    Add-ons
    Zotero)

    If I click Add-ons, Zotero appears under "Extensions" and the options are preferences, disable, or uninstall.

    Is the status bar visible? (View->Status Bar)

    If you select Tools->Zotero, does the Zotero pane appear?

    Isn't there supposed to be an icon in the url bar at the top of the web page (like where the rss icon is)?

    Thanks so much for walking me through this...next will be to try importing stuff from Biblioscape, if that is possible. Your program looks great and better for me than EndNote or Biblioscape. I wrote a text a couple of years ago (now due for revision) and keeping track of the references was a nightmare. Hopefully this will help.

    The Quick Start Guide is a good place to start and explains how the URL bar icon works.

    Hi I have just found this post and it answered my questions too except that if i clock on the zotero icon i have just found i get this message :Zotero 'scrapers' DB version is newer than SQL file and I cannot get any further
