Can't Download the pdf file for article from Science Direct to Zotero

Hi,

I am facing a problem in downloading the pdf files of the articles from science direct. I have access to the required pdf files but every time zotero shows the message that the pdf file cannot be downloaded.

Zotero can only capture the citation but can't download the pdf files.

please assist me in resolving this issue.
  • What browser are you using? What's the URL for the page where you're importing from?
  • i am using chrome and i just went to science direct website and save the pdf for which i have full access but then zotero stopped the download
  • i can download the pdf as usual by downloading it but when i click on the zotero capture it will only save the citation and for pdf it says pdf download failed
  • here is the link
    http://www.sciencedirect.com.focus.lib.kth.se/science/article/pii/S0264410X14007403
please check if others can capture pdf from zotero or not?
  • Zotero Connectors (Chrome, Safari, Opera) do not work well when downloading PDFs over a proxy (focus.lib.kth.se part of your URL). This is probably going to be fixed in the next Zotero release though.
  • and when this update is going to be published?
  • Not sure. probably a couple weeks or so.
  • so i hope its not that far away
  • Hi, did this update get published or did Moeen sort the problem out? I've got exactly the same issue. I work on a mac. So frustrating!
  • update isn't up yet. Workarounds include using Zotero in Firefox or connecting via VPN instead of proxy.
  • I am still getting the issue and zotero needs to sort out on urgent basis.
  • Let's not overdramatize this: There are working solutions and if you want to stay on Chrome and don't have access to VPN (which most universities offer), adding the PDF to an item takes 3 clicks.
  • Thanks adamsmith
  • I found the PDF doesn't download automatically even I changed from Chrome to Firefox. Any clues?
