How do other people read a PDF I submitted as a link?
If this has already been answered, I apologize. I searched but found I nought. I am a newbie at this wonderful Zotero world you've created and am truly impressed.
I am on Mac, using the Standalone. I have a number of large PDFs which I have added to my library as links. I don't want to load them to my Zotero storage in order to save space.
Colleagues also using Standalone on Mac and signing in with same credentials as me can see my linked files, but if they try to read them, they get a 'broken link' dialog. I, of course, can see the files if I click them.
I guess I don't understand how a linked file operates for a user who isn't on the machine where they reside.
Thanks in advance

Our site is dedicated to give families closure on the deaths of relatives or friends who just disappeared in their aircraft in war. Some of the events took place 70 years ago so tracking back through the records, speaking to witnesses or more usually the sons of witnesses brings up lots of data, most of it not fitting what we believe the real picture to be. Slotting in a vital sliver of info where we won't lose it till it's relevance becomes apparent is really hard, and our intention with Zotero is to make the whole team aware of everything everybody else knows, and get to the resolution with high confidence so families can, at last, get closure.
Zotero holds great promise for us and looking at the fora activity it appears there are people in this community really helping each other. Thanks again for all you've done to get this far. And if anyone has a story to tell regarding aviation people, check out our site aircrewremembered.com and contact us. And if you have great ideas for using Zotero aggressively/ambitiously we are all ears.
