online library missing a year's worth of data

I have been using Zotero on a laptop for a full year. Now I am back on my desktop and it does not sync. But more worrying is that the online Zotero library is also missing the year's worth of data. Yes, the accounts are the same. Thanks.

Yeah, I had seen that, but I was convinced that it synced on line automatically and would have done so over the past year. I've got that part done now and am confident for the desktop tomorrow. Thanks.

I am trying to load Zotero onto my new laptop and when I went to zotero.com and signed into my account there is nothing that shows up in my library. I can still access my library on my old laptop when I entered a new journal article tho.
Confused.
