Cannot drag and drop references into new collection or pdfs under parent

I'm using the Firefox extension of Zotero, run off of Mozilla portable, but the following problem also now happens with my Zotero standalone version. I can no longer drag and drop references into collections, or drag pdfs that I download (through Firefox to Zotero) under the parent item.

Here is the debug number I get after trying to drag a pdf in Zotero underneath a parent item: D1001296024

Here is the debug number I get after trying to drag a reference into another collection: D620090906

This happens with all citations and pdfs. Thanks!
  • There's a file sync going on in the middle of these. There may not be useful info in the output anyway, but there's no way we can read it with an ongoing sync, so you'll need to let that finish first and then try again.
  • Also, what exactly happens when you try to drag?
  • Ok, after the sync, I have the following Debug numbers:
After trying to drag a pdf under a parent item: D112086861
After trying to drag a citation into a collection: D1407198270

When I try to drag, nothing happens. The parent item (or collection) that I am trying to drag into gets highlighted with a lighter blue, but it is the same type of highlighting as when I just hover my pointer over the collection/parent item. It looks like the citation/pdf that I would like to drag are just not responding to being dragged.
  • Hello, I actually just resolved this problem; it is a bug in Windows 7, not Zotero, where all drag and drop functionality disappeared (I just happened to notice it while working in Zotero). It can be easily resolved by left clicking in Windows Explorer and while holding down, press the escape. here's another forum on this in case other have noticed the problem while using Zotero: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-performance/drag-and-drop-not-working-in-windows-7/f6dcfa11-8c51-e011-8dfc-68b599b31bf5
