missing folders in Zotero standalone

I recently got Windows 7. When I synced my zotero files to the newer version of Firefox, all of the folders disappeared. They are in my online storage but not in my Standalone. And the organization of the files is completely different online and in Standalone. Help!!
  • So you have both Zotero Standalone and Zotero in Firefox? Or are you referring to the Firefox version as Standalone?

Make sure you are syncing with the same username as your Zotero.org account. Also, make sure that you don't have your collections collapsed.
  • I don't think my collections are collapsed. When I click on the icon, at the top of the left-hand column there is a choice of either "My Library" or "Group Library". In the left-had column there is an alphabetical list of things I've stored on Zotero but it is no longer organized in folders. The list is arranged horizontally, and I'm not sure its all there.

When I click on one of the subjects in the list, it shows the articles or whatever is listed under it but the rest of the list disappears.

The middle column also holds an alphabetized list, but because the folders are missing, I don't know what's where. But this is quite confusing.

Also, there is no category for capturing websites in this version of Zotero. And yes, I'm using the same username. I seem to be getting into Zotero from the icon but its just not working as it has in the past.

Since the website has my info, should I maybe delete and reload the program altogether? Helppppp!!

    Thanks

  • No, do not delete anything. Could you take a screenshot of what you're looking at, upload it somewhere (imgur or dropbox), and link to it here? I'm a bit confused by your description.
  • Ok. I just spent the day fiddling with the various links and buttons on Zotero and something I did finally revealed the folders - yaah! All the other info I stored there seems to be in place a accessible too.

So now, I'm wondering where is the selection for citation of websites? Should I be looking for a different name?

    thanks
