Add item to group library via website?

Hi everyone,

Is it possible to add an item from "My Library" to my group's library via the website interface? I can't seen an option for this. Thanks very much!

  • no, only in the client.
  • Thanks much! Any idea if this feature will be added? It seems pretty basic and important. Otherwise, everyone in the group has to have a local zotero client.
  • If you're going to do any serious work with Zotero, we'll still recommend the client. This is planned for the website though.
  • I have the client but I'm trying to find a light weight way for our group to collaborate. Everyone uses a different citation manager, so the group bibliography It wont work if everyone needs to download the client (people just won't do it.) so unfortunately it looks like citeulike might be easier.
  • Thanks, fcheslack. When do you expect this feature to be available? (i.e. the ability to add collection items to a group library via the website interface.)

I'm a librarian working with a faculty member who needs to add a former student's collections to their group library. The student gave us access to her account, which allows us to access her collections on the web, but (as you know) not to add these collections to a group library. We don't have access to the student's computer/ local client. We'd like to keep the folders, sub-folders, attachments etc. intact when we add them to the group library.

If you have a clean workaround (export, then upload? create a new account with a new local client, add new account to group library, then sync using the new local client?) I'd welcome your advice.

    Many thanks!

  • The workaround would be to set-up a separate Firefox or Zotero profile (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles ) and sync with that user's account. That's equivalent to having access to the user's own client.
    (Unless I'm misunderstanding something).
