Style Request: [COPPE/UFRJ] (fix the csl file)
I have a CSL file which already describes very well the format I need. Unfortunately, when I try to import it at Zotero, it gives me an error:
"citacao-coppe.csl" is not a valid CSL 1.0.1 style file, and may not work properly with Zotero.
Are you sure you want to continue?
If I choose YES, it gets added. However, I feel a bit insecure about writing long texts and risking losing the references. Besides I'd like to offer the file to the institution.
The file is here:
https://github.com/allangirao/citacao-coppe/raw/master/citacao-coppe.csl
And I don't know what is wrong with it.
I was able to easily open it at Mendeley's visual editor:
http://csl.mendeley.com/visualEditor/index.php
But it gives me an error whenever I try to save it.
The error message says:
Error saving the style:undefined
Message:Invalid style
Could anyone help me figuring out what is wrong with it?

Rintzeedited May 28, 2014See http://validator.nu/?doc=https://raw.githubusercontent.com/allangirao/citacao-coppe/master/citacao-coppe.csl&schema=https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/raw/v1.0.1/csl.rnc&parser=xml&laxtype=yes for a validation report, which points out several things that do not comply with the CSL specification at http://citationstyles.org/downloads/specification.html .

pplupoDo you know how to fix it? I mean, the validation errors are pretty clear on what is wrong but I guess I shouldn't just go deleting what's wrong. It must probably be done some other way, I presume.

adamsmithI'm pretty sure you actually can delete all of those and get the same outcome - since they're mostly variables and/or terms unknown to CSL/Zotero they'd just come out empty. I'd recommend testing in the Zotero test pane https://www.zotero.org/support/dev/citation_styles/reference_test_pane to make sure. If you have specific questions we're happy to help, but running you through each of those errors and possible solutions takes too long.

pplupoOf course. Your help was great. I should take a better look at it myself. Thank you very much you both. :-)
