Moving data from dead computer

My computer died, but I have access to the hard drive. My new computer is Vista. How do I transfer the data over?

    Dan, we tried this and the system just got hung up. I don't know if it is related to the fact that we can't actually use the hard drive, we can only get files from it in a round about way.

    However, we will try again tonight and see if maybe we didn't get the file location just right...?

    Is it possible we need to change them to another format?

    I don't know what you mean by "hung up", but the info in that entry is pretty much all there is to it.

    I kept getting a message that Zotero was loading files and it would stay that way for hours (literally overnight once).

    After trying again and again, though, I finally got it to work. No answer to why.
