Open Journal Systems import - doubled fields

See: http://www.fpz.unizg.hr/traffic/index.php/PROMTT/article/view/291

When I import from the journal Promet using the default OJS translator, the article title, author names, publication name, volume and issue numbers, page range, date, language, doi, and ISSN are doubled -- that is the fields are imported twice. The abstract isn't downloaded but the article title is imported to the abstract field.

The COinS import works fine except there is no abstract.
the DOI CrossRef import omits the abstract, page range, and language
The Embedded Metadata import result is identical to the OJS problem except that the article title is brought into the Abstract field and the abstract is brought into the Notes field.

This is not high on my priority list because the COinS captures most of what I need. nonetheless, I thought that this warrants a report.
  • thanks. OJS is basically using the Embedded Metadata translator, which is why you're seeing the same results. They embed the metadata twice on that site - once in the header, once further down around the title in a
tag. That's, at a minimum, highly unusual and probably a bad idea on their port.
We may still consider addressing it - Just ignoring duplicate fields is not an option, as e.g. multiple authors are often listed in multiple citation_author fields. We could look just in the site header as another option.
  • Looking in the header only seems reasonable to me. I can't think of anything this would break. Meta in the body (if it appears) is likely to be for multiple items anyway.
