Bad character importing...

Using the importer for ScienceDirect, I am getting <?> characters for most special characters (ç, etc). Is there someone who is debugging these importers?

Presumably, this is because the site uses RIS (which is explicitly supposed to use one of two legacy character encodings & Elsevier is not doing that).

I don't know if there's a need to keep posting examples--they're probably all based on the same character-set issue (the first one has <?> because of non-breaking spaces; it also happens to having missing symbols, but that is because Elsevier renders them as graphics & there doesn't look like there is an easy way to grab them).

Does it help anyone to know that I cut/paste them from the webpage directly into Zotero after the reference is imported to fix these issues?
