Sub-collection display behavior

In one of my other favorite opensource projects (jMemorize), you can organize cards in sub-folders similar to the way collections work in Zotero. However, in that project, there is an option to 'display contents of sub-folders'.

I'd like to request that there be an option to have parent folders display the contents of all sub-folders, allowing you to 'drill down' through your references, but still be able to look at the overview by looking that the parent collection of all references.

Is that clear? Or did I just ramble?

    On the documentation/support page of the zotero webpage (http://www.zotero.org/documentation/) hidden preferences do not appear, even though they should be documented there, I guess. Really "hidden" preferences.
