Storage full

Probably a stupid question, but my storage is full online. I want to delete most of the stuff from the online storage - if I do this, will it also delete from the standalone? I basically just want it all stored on the standalone only. Cheers!
  • You can purge your storage online:
    https://www.zotero.org/settings/storage
and then disable file syncing under preferences --> sync in Zotero Standalone.
While "purge" will just affect your online storage, you should _not_ delete individual attachments online if you don't also want them deleted locally.
  • Thanks! Am I able to sync just a single file from the standalone so I have everything on the standalone and just that file online?
  • no, I don't think so.
  • Thanks! One final question - I purged the stuff online, but all the references still appear in the online "My Documents" section, along with links to each article online. What does the purge actually delete?
  • the links are still there (so you know those items have attachments) but the files aren't - try to open them.
  • what if i remove the syncing process before i purge the online storage?
  • sorry, I don't understand what your question is.
  • sorry for not being clear.
you say in the second post in this discussion:

You can purge your storage online:

and then disable file syncing under preferences

is it ok if I first disable file syncing and then purge the online storage?
  • sure, the order makes no difference.
