Manage tags

Hi,
Some tags have been created automatically when I entered items in my library. I have managed to remove them and replace them with appropriate ones; however they remain in the list of all possible tags of my library (even if there is 0 item associated with them). How do I fix this?

    have you emptied your Zotero trash? Restarted Zotero?
    Or is this about the webpage?

    I have emptied the trash and restarted Zotero, but the tags are still there

    That's pretty much impossible. I'd guess that you're actually looking in a collection and have "Display All Tags in This Library" enabled in the tag selector menu, meaning that they still exist on other items elsewhere in your library. When you go to the library root, are the tags black or gray? If you click on one of them, what do you see in the middle pane?

    don't colored tags stay even after deleting all items, though, or has that been fixed since I last tried?

    Yes (and that was by design, I believe), but those wouldn't have been created automatically.
