Can't add new tags

I'm having trouble adding tags to items. When I click on the tags tab of a reference and then click add the little tag icon will show up, but there is no box in which to type the tag.

The same thing happens with a snapshot or a note when I click the tags link and then add tag.

However if I open a note in a separate window, click the tags link, add tag then I do get the box showing up. However this only works for notes and I need to be able to tag snapshots and references as well.

Any suggestions?

    What OS, version of Firefox and version of Zotero are you using?

    There is a strong chance that this is the result of a conflict with another extension. Try disabling your other Firefox extensions and see if things return to normal.

    I have had a similar problem. I seem to always be able to add a single tag, but sometimes when I click "add" for a second tag I get a box but no cursor so I can't enter anything.

    This actually happened when I was trying to create an account for this forum -- I got boxes but no cursor when I clicked on them. (I was able to register and am now entering this comment using IE.) I am using Windows XP, Firefox 2.0.0.13, Zotero 1.0.3.

    Hmmm, I went back to Firefox and now I get boxes with cursors on the "create and account" page... but adding tags is still hit-and-miss. I'll try disabling other extensions as you suggested to the other poster.

    We have had three or four people report this behavior. After adding tags they briefly lose the ability to enter text into text fields. I have unsuccessfully tried several times to reproduce the error but it has yet to happen to me on either a Mac or PC.

    This seems to be happening intermittently for only a few users and I am not sure what could be the cause. If anyone can find a way to consistently reproduce the error we can create a ticket and most likely resolve it in short order.

    FWIW: I've encountered this on one of my Linux boxes fairly often, but it doesn't seem to be as big of a problem on others. I have seen it on Windows, but again not frequently (but I don't see Windows very frequently either). I haven't been able to devise a recipe to reliably reproduce the bug.

    Other typical extensions: All-in-one gestures, LibX, bugmenot, adblock or adblock plus. I occasionally use others (greasemonkey, etc.), but not consistently & I think that I've seen the behavior on browsers with no other extensions than the listed "typical" ones.

    If anyone sees this behavior, check Report Errors under the Actions (gear icon) menu to see if an error has occurred. If so, send in an error report and post the Report ID here or (if the error reporting system isn't working, as is the case at the moment due to a network issue) manually post the errors you see here.

    I'm running Mac OS 10.5.5, Firefox 3.03 and Zotero 1.07.

    I can't add tags. Nothing happens when I click the tags: [click here]

    With or without the tag selector open.

    Also, the tag selector is "frozen" with a permanent set of 4 tags, grayed out, that won't change no matter what library I am in or reference I have selected.

    I did; that didn't work. But I downloaded an updated version of Zotero and the problem went away.

    I am a new user. I just opened Zotero for the 2nd time. I'm using a mac with Firefox 3.0.4. I can't seem to add tags. I don't have any tabs as I see in some screencasts on the right side of the screen. There is something below the notes box that says

    Related: [click here]
    Tags: [click here]

    but nothing happens when I click on the click here.

    Any thoughts?

    I have the same problem as ssloyd100. There are no tabs displayed at the top of the box on the right (including the 'tags' tab).

    I have Firefox 3.0.5 and Zotero 1.0.7 running on a macbook pro.

    Seems like this problem is quite common from the forum.

    I've uninstalled all extensions (except Zotero) and restarted and still doesn't work.

    You're viewing an attachment, not a regular item. See Missing Item Tabs.

    The attachment/note tags popup not displaying when the Firefox window is extended to the bottom of the screen is fixed in Zotero 1.0.8, now available.
