Import ncbi/pubmed issues

Hi,
I have started seeing an issue with importing references from particular sites that previously did not have any issue.

I am using zotero 4.0.17.1 with mozilla firefox.

My issue is on webpages such as this example
www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12954066

I get the save to zotero icon displayed, but clicking it does not add the reference to my library.
What happens is that I see the "saving to my library" pop up display on screen but not actually add the reference to the library.

I have noted this also occurs on science direct webpages also.

Have I done something to my zotero that prevents it from adding these links?

    this happens very occasionally on pubmed. Is that still an issue?
    Never seen this on sciencedirect, though, we'd have to see a URL for that.
    Generally these apply, but as I say, if this happens on pubmed and goes away after a while it's an issue on their side and there's no need to report it.

    Thanks for responding.
    The issue started approximately 2 to 3 weeks ago and hasn't fixed itself since.
    The science direct issue would bring up an error: known translator issue promt.

    Funnily enough I just discovered when I opened the standalone, the sciencedirect links now work while the ncbi has the known translator promt.

    Hmmm strange phenomenon.
    I may just keep the standalone open in the mean time.

    if this is an ongoing issue with Pubmed something is wrong on your side, this works in general. Run through these (with Standalone closed):

    Hi Paddy, exactly the same problem here. Runing 4.0.17.1 with firefox and randomly a few weeks ago Zotero stopped importing from Pubmed. Still not working as of this morning, did you have any luck with Adam's suggested solution? Gonna try it now.
