Minimize tree view

Hi there,

Whenever I search my zotero db, the tree view gets expanded in a way I don't like it:

I save all my papers with pdf attachments. When I search for a specific author (e.g. Porter) all papers show up AND the attachments are all expanded. Now, (1) how I can prevent this from happening, and (2) if I cannot prevent it, how can I minimize the tree view without minimizing each and every expanded paper?

    I don't know of any way to prevent the initial expansion. But you can collapse all by putting focus in the middle pane, and hitting the '-' (minus) key.
