Z standalone doesn't function

I have installed Zotero Standalone in 2 PCS:
- A notebook with Win8, Office 2013
_ A desktop With Win8, , Office 2013

In both I use mostly Chrome. Installed Zotero normally. But it doen't work in the PCs. I mean it doesn't shows the bluebook icon in navegator (anyone: IE, Firefox, Chrome os Safari. Yes...I did respect the correct version of Zotero for each one) nor the Word toolbar.

I've searched here in Forum, but didn't find any question like mine, nor other resource.

Thank you everyone.

Note that for Chrome you will need both Zotero Standalone _and_ the Chrome connector installed. You will never see a URL bar icon in IE.
  • Hi !
    Please, answer 2 questions:

1)Zotero Standalonge ended to function here ! I uninstalled, and reinstalled (version 4.0.17) I never coul use the Word-add on acting ! My notebook has Windows 8-64bits, and Officce-13

I opened chrome-extension page, and see: general tab - Zotero Standalone is currently available. But there is a Error report: [JavaScript Error: "Attempting to use a disconnected port object" {file: "extensions::messaging" line: 71}]
In Advanced tab there are marked: Enable loggin, Star up and to Show in console.

  • Hello Adam.
    I can't use Zotero Standalone here. I use Win8, 64bits, and Word13, and Chrome.
I instaled version 4.0.17, today. Also the Word pluggin for Crome.
The Zotero icon (blue book ?) doesn't appear in Chrome address bar. In my Word doesn't appear in the menuses of Word

I don't know what is wrong ! I am trying to use Zotero for so many time !!
    Thank you
    Francisco
  • I can't use Zotero Standalone here
What exactly does this mean? Can you not open Zotero Standalone? Are you getting errors? Or the only problems are Chrome and Word integration?
Also the Word pluggin for Crome
There is no such thing. Please provide links to where you downloaded this plugin from.

What page are you trying this on? Try it here: http://www.worldcat.org/title/wealth-of-nations/oclc/44841660&referer=brief_results

Close Word. In Zotero Standalone (if you can open it), go to Preferences -> Cite -> Word Processors -> and click the "Install Microsoft Word Add-in"

You can drag and drop PDFs right into Zotero, then you can right-click on the PDF file and choose "Retrieve Metadata". If that does not find any metadata, you will need to enter it yourself. Right-click the file again and select "Create Parent Item", then fill out the metadata fields in the right pane.
  • :-( My link was better
  • sorry, had the tab open for a while & didn't see your answer.
