duplicates created from importing

I have been importing references from endnote and/or reference manager. but when it transfers the files, I get duplicates of each reference anywhere from 5-12 duplicates. its only entered once in the original database so I don't understand why so many are being duplicated.

    how exactly have you been importing those references? Could the same references have been in multiple files that you imported?

    export from refman as RIS and then import to library in zotero. it is possible to have some duplicates but not 12 times.

    so did you import just one RIS file or multiple? If just one file - anything unusual happened during import? I don't believe we've ever seen this

    we imported multiple references. about 200 references at the same time. a couple of times we got an error message that files were incompatible and that we would have to try again. we would but not import the ones that were successful.
