Syncing and conflict resolution issues

Hello and Happy New Year!

I am having a very similar problem. When I open Standalone 3.0.8.1, it takes a much longer time than usual "processing updates from server." Then it asks me to resolve conflicts. The number has varied from 106 to 210. I have tried selecting all the local items and selecting all the remote items. However, each time I start the program, the green arrow starts spinning for several minutes, and then I'm asked to resolve the same conflicts all over again. I've had this problem for about a week now. Is there any help possible?

Thank you so much.

    When I open Standalone 3.0.8.1
That version is over a year old. Please update to the latest version and try again. https://www.zotero.org/download/

    Edit: err... over a year.
  • Yes, I'm aware of that. I don't have the newest Mac OS, and don't have the storage space to upgrade to it. I had been using Standalone without trouble. But if there aren't any pending requests from me to the server and the update is the only way to correct the problem, then I'll have to wait until I upgrade computers. Thank you!
  • Idk how willing Dan will be to debug this with such an old version of Zotero, but if he is, he may want to see Debug IDs for:
    • Initial sync that triggers the conflict resolution: Turn off automatic syncing in Preferences -> Sync. Restart Zotero. Turn on debug logging (see link above). Keep the preference window open. Click the sync arrow. Stop debug logging and submit the log once the conflict resolution screen appears.

    • End of conflict resolution: Once you get to the last conflict, turn on debug logging, resolve last conflict, wait for Zotero to finish the sync and then submit the debug log.
You'll also want to post your actual system specs (i.e. Mac OS X version)
  • Thank you, aurimas.
  • Ok, I'm using Mac OS 10.5.8. I submitted Debug ID D1874530800 before conflict resolution. I then resolved 166 conflicts and submitted a second Debug ID D613789625.

Thank you for whatever help you are able to provide. Research funds aren't available for an upgrade to the next generation of Mac (compatible with the newer versions of Standalone) so any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

    All Best --
  • Sorry, but we can't provide any support for such an old version. (We don't even support older 4.0 versions.)
