I try to index the pdftotext-win32.exe and pdfinfo-win32.exe to have acces to the pdf with Standalone but it doesn't works. It's not posible to install from the software neither to the website...how to proceed? I'm using Chrome
thanks
  • what's the exact error message you're getting?
  • Hello

It doesn't show any message, only it doesn't respond to the command of indexation of not-indexed files. Neither to the command of installer verification. It just doens't happen anything.

so it says that the pdf tools aren't installed? Could you provide a debug ID that covers clicking the install pdf tools button?
    http://www.zotero.org/support/debug_output
(btw. - if you prefer it's fine to write in your native language)
  • Yes, it say that they aren't installed.
I did the debug process and the ID is D1238054209

How many times have you tried clicking "Check for installer"? There could be a delay of a few seconds depending on network/server conditions, but that should certainly work. None of the other commands will work until that says that the PDF tools have been installed, though.

Are you connecting to the Internet via a proxy? (You were able to submit a Debug ID, which suggests that Standalone is able to talk to the Zotero servers...)
  • I'm trying but it isn't working. I clicked a lot of times in "Check for installer", I waited a moment, but nothing happens

Does Standalone's "Check for Updates" work? "Add Item by Identifier"? And are you connecting via a proxy server?
  • No, it doesn't "check for updates", and not "add item by identifier".
And yes, I'm connected via a proxy server.
  • OK, so it's the proxy that's the problem. Are you able to connect to the Internet without the proxy? If so, try disabling it.

To debug the larger problem, we'll need to know a bit more about your proxy setup — specifically, which settings ("Automatic proxy configuration", etc.) are enabled in the system proxy preferences?
