Library sorting (issues and obvservations)
Hello,
I created a public group on Zotero to collect all articles from my institution (767 items).
The sorting works perfectly for title and creator.
It does not work properly for year/date/type/language...
There seems to be similar bugs to what this discussion reported :
https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/33171/library-not-showing-alphabetically/#Item_0
The references are sorted within groups of citations but I could not identify the pattern (in the previous discussion it was attachments/notes). I checked every single field available on library settings (displayed columns) and none of them could help me understand this sorting issue.
For example, when sorting by date (asc), I get 15 pages of "random" references (sometimes asc or desc within a group of citations) and the oldest articles are showed on the 16th page only (out of 50).
https://www.zotero.org/groups/icm_publications/items/itemPage/16/order/date/sort/asc
I know the metadata of my references are pretty homogeneous because I collected almost all of them from a big request on pubmed on the same day.
What I noticed and may be useful to you:
- ascending/descending sorting is not available for several fields (when I click twice, sorting order does not change, it is always ascending, although the URL does not finish with /asc as for creator sorting) ==> If I manually change the URL, it does not change anything.
- When I am sorting creator in a descending order and I click on another field, the order is different than when I am first sorting creator in an ascending order... (hm... hard to get a pattern afterwards)
- When I use the search bar and next try to sort the results, I get this message : "something went wrong but we're not sure what".
The new website of my institution has been launched last Monday and this public group is available for any visitor. I hope you will find a solution so that the articles can be properly sorted.
Thank you very much for you time
Julie

I guess you did not forget me but, just in case... ^^

Your observations highlighted several bugs. I believe all of them should be fixed now. Let us know if there is still unexpected behaviour you're seeing.
thank you for your responsiveness !
