Downgrade account to free account

Question: I have an account for 1GB storage and it's due this 1/20/2012. At the moment I'm not using it much, is it possible to downgrade my account to free instead of being lock-up. I will clean up my account so that I don't exceed the 100MB size limit.
  • It will automatically be downgraded if you don't renew it.
  • I have 2 questions regarding the same issue:
-If you have more than 100MB when it automatically downgrades, is it all lost or is 100MB of it saved?
-If my account is currently locked, does that mean I can't use zotero to input sources into word? Once the one-month lock is over, that will return to the previous settings?
    Thanks!
  • I don't know the answer to the first question, but a lock just means that you can't sync any more files to the Zotero server. You would still be able to sync regular data and you can always work with your local Zotero database, including the Word plugin, regardless of syncing.

Someone at my library asked me a question similar to sophiacarodenuto's. If one stops paying for their extra storage, do you lose your attachments as your space goes back to 300MB? Has anyone been able to find ansnwer since this was asked over a year ago?

    Thanks!
  • pretty sure it just deletes everything above 300MB (after a grace period - not immediately) and you can't pick which files are deleted - but note that that doesn't mean you lose your attachments:
You just lose the copy of your attachment on the server. It will still exist in the local copy of your Zotero library.
  • Thank you very much for this adamsmith. That's a exactly what my colleague wanted to know.
