Can I download and use zotero firefox and standalone simultaniously

Sorry if this has already been answered I cannot find anything on the topic during my searches. I really like zotero for firefox that I use often. However I would like to also download standalone for when I am working on chrome or when I do not have access to internet. Can I sync my library to both standalone and firefox or will this cause problems? Many thanks
  • Using both is no problem. By default they'll share the same data directory, allowing you to seamlessly switch back and forth between the two, no syncing required. Just close Standalone to use Zotero for Firefox. When Standalone is open, Zotero for Firefox will operate in a lightweight "connector" mode that allows you to save directly to Standalone.
  • But to be clear, you don't need an Internet connection to use Zotero for Firefox. Zotero for Firefox runs on your computer just like Zotero Standalone. The only difference is that one is in a window in Firefox, but it's not a web page that requires an Internet connection. (For using Chrome you'll want to use Standalone, though.)
