Correction in citation style American Psychological Association 6th Edition

Dear all,

I need to use the citation style American Psychological Association 6th Edition for my paper, and in the citations in the text there seems to be an error because in some references there is the complete author's name plus the last name, in other references only the last name, and still in others there is the first letter of author's name plus the last name.

Could somebody help me to repair this mistake in references citations in the text?

Thank you very much in advance
  • Can you give us concrete examples? Usually this will happen if Zotero needs to disambiguate papers published in the same year by authors with same last name. If it's actually the same author, make sure it is entered exactly the same way in Zotero for all citations. I.e. Smith, John for all, not Smith, John; Smith, J.; Smith, J for 3 different references.

I had a similar problem: With some citations the first name was shown, while with otheres only the last name appeared. All names were entered in exactly the same name into my zotero-library. After searching for a while I deleted the names and entered them again into my zotero-library and then it worked! I assume that in my earlier entries the names were probably formated in a font that Zotero did not recognize. I think that this is the cause because the names of these references also appeared with a different font in the reference list at the end of my document. In the zotero library, however, all names were displayed in exactly the same way. Hope this helps someone...
