Syncing Temporarily Unavailable #1945343917

When I launched Firefox (this is soon after upgrading to the latest version of Firefox, 25.0) I received a message that full text syncing was now available. I clicked ok. Right away, the dreaded exclamation mark popped up in the red circle next to the green syncro icon. The message is that is syncing is temporarily unavailable.

I use a imac running Mac Os 10.8.5.
