Problem saving from website with Safari 7.0 (Mavericks)

Only just started using Zotero but I'm not able to see the save (from website) icon in Safari. It works fine using Chrome. I've had a few teething problems since installing Mavericks and I wonder if the problem I'm having with Safari is due to the new Apple OS.

Thanks
  • the icon in Safari is to the left of the URL bar (not in the URL bar at the right as in most of the documentation and in Chrome). It changes color on supported sites - are you sure it's not there? I'm not aware of any OS X 10.9 problems with Zotero.
  • Hi,

Thanks and sorry to have troubled you. The icon is on the left although its not within the search bar as I thought it would be. Its with all of the other Safari icons. But it's there and it works.

    Thanks
  • no, this is very poorly documented, you're very much not the first person to miss it.
@rintze @Simon - you're the Mac people - could you maybe add a screenshot from Safari?

  • I've added a note which hopefully explains where the icon appears in Safari. I have a screen save but couldn't work out how to add it into the text.
  • Thanks. Yes, the media handling of the docuwiki is a bit of a mess. If you put the screenshot somewhere (dropbox, imgur) where I can access it I'll add it to the page.

  • thanks - but I can't open that, though, not sure why. Dropbox isn't creating a preview, either. .tiff shouldn't be a problem in general, though we'll upload it as .png so maybe try that.
  • thanks, added:

Could you replace it with this one: [redacted] ? The paragraph below refers to a book icon, which could be confusing.
  • not while you're editing that page :)
  • Sorry, I just figured out how to upload files to zotero.org, so I took care of it. Still don't know how to delete an existing file though.
  • (Thanks — replaced with one from 10.9 for clarity, though.)
  • Zotero Icon stopped working for me when I use the university library's database, which prior to Safari 7.0 was never the case. It worked just fine. I would click icon and book's info. would appear on my standalone. Any tips on how to fix this? Thank you
