Scitation date errors

I've been having trouble importing references from Scitation (e.g.
http://scitation.aip.org/content/asa/journal/jasa/44/1/10.1121/1.1970490
)
The date that appears in Zotero seems to be the date the article was put online, rather than the date of publication. Any thoughts on fixing it, beyond my manual correction method?
  • not easily. The wrong date is in the metadata on the page - as both citation_published_date and as dc.date.
    It's provided correctly in the Citation export (e.g. to Endnote or Bibtex) but the problem is that those are otherwise less complete - e.g. the metadata on the page has abstract, ISSN, cleaner DOI, it's more reliable to fetch, so I'm not sure we'd want to switch to importing bibtex. Combining the two is possible, but always a bit of a nightmare logistically. I'll see what can be done or maybe aurimas who wrote the translator has an idea on how to solve that elegantly, but it's not a trivial fix, so may very well take some time.
  • The only other option is to extract the year from the line under authors, which in this case wouldn't be too bad. I'll have to take a look if other article BibTeX/ENW exports provide more granular dates.
