Standalone freeze Safari and Chrome (mac)

Hi,
I've installed Standalone 4.0 on a Imac running OSX 10.6.8.
and then the LibreOffice Plugin 3.5.8.
The result is that Safari and Chrome have a problem since.
The issue is that now both browsers freeze for about 3 minutes at startup (it open a blank window and then freeze). After that time, both browsers behave normaly.
I've removed standalone.
Restarted the machine several time, but to no effect. The problem still on.
I run Zotero on Firefox as well, but all this had no impact on FF nor or Zotero Firefox plugin. Both still work perfectly.

    I assume you installed the Safari and Chrome extensions for Zotero, so if you're having trouble you should try disabling those.

    Standalone itself shouldn't have any effect on Safari or Chrome.

    Simon may be able to comment on the freeze. Are you running some sort of security software or proxy server that could be interfering with network requests?

    Proxy was the issue.

    I've disable it and it works OK now.

    Well, in fact it fix the freezing time issue, but now I have to circumvent the proxy thing since I need to use this proxy to access some data.

    Make sure your system isn't trying to proxy localhost or 127.0.0.1. Usually those are exempted by default, but that's what might cause the behavior you're seeing.
