saving journal article to folder

I'm on a Mac and I have the Safari extension. I'm on the preview page for a journal article. I click the icon that looks like a text document - the snapshot saves, but the PDF does not. Any recommendations?
  • We'll need the URL in question.
  • and it would be useful to know whether Zotero attempts to download a PDF (in which case you'd see it listed in the pop-up and then have a red x appear next to it) or not.
  • http://web.ebscohost.com.ezproxy.lib.utexas.edu/ehost/detail?vid=6&sid=67d4e8f0-5222-43cf-9b2f-04f157655212%40sessionmgr111&hid=122&bdata=JnNpdGU9ZWhvc3QtbGl2ZQ%3d%3d#db=psyh&AN=1984-25482-001

and yes, Zotero does attempt to download it, as shown in the pop-up, then the red x appears.

    Thanks for the help guys.
  • Zotero is not able to get PDFs for some sites when you're using connectors (i.e. Chrome or Safari) and going through a proxy, that includes Proquest, EBSCO, and sciencedirect.
This should work on campus (or connecting through VPN) or if you're using Zotero for Firefox.
  • I'll give that a shot. Thank you.
  • I believe if you're using the Firefox version you should have Standalone closed when importing (they share a database by default, so anything you import will still show up in Standalone if you want to use that e.g. for writing).
