Incompatibility with 16.0.2 Firefox + Mac OS 10.5.8 ?

Dear Zotero community,

I've recently been advised to use Zotero for my research studies and in the past few days I've been trying to install the plugin in my Firefox so I can directly add documents through my web browser.

When I first tried to install the newest Zotero version, I couldn't because I have Mac OS 10.5.8 in my laptop. Luckily, I found an elder version and I was able to install the program and it runs fine so far. However, I was wondering if it would be possible to do the same on my FF since I tried using older plugins but I still don't manage to see the logo/access in my browser.

Does anyone have any tip/suggestion? Is there any way that I can do this without updating my operating system?

Thanks in advance!
  • Not sure I fully understand but if you're running an old Firefox version (which you really shouldn't - it's very much unsafe) you can install an old Zotero version (probably the same version as the standalone you're using) and the combination of the two will work. Does that answer the question?
If you don't see a Zotero logo, see here:

  • This is probably not good news.
    See:
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-no-longer-works-mac-os-x-10-5

FireFox versions beyond 16 will not work in an OS 10.5 environment.

Apple states that OS 10.5.x versions are a security risk.
