I am struggling with my syncing. I am connected to an online library but I cannot sync with it at all. I have tried EVERYTHING, from deleting my account, zotero and even deleting all the zotero files on my computer. It is extremely frustrating. I set up the sync settings in preferences and it starts syncing but soon after fails like clockwork.

Any idea what could be wrong? Definitely not the internet connection

Thanks
  • Hi,

I would like to add that WVM and I are part of the same group library of which I am the owner. WVM tried adding some documents into a collection(called Governance)in the group library but for some reason the pdfs were not uploading. Therefore, I tried removing the entire collection (called Governance) from my online library in the hope that we could start over from scratch. However now when I sync, the little green arrow keeps on turning, but it seems to never properly sync. Furthermore, when I check my online library, this folder called governance is still there.

We look forward to some help

    Thanks
  • WVM: From the error message you're getting:
The file 'C:\Users\[...]\Desktop\[...]\ZoterO\storage\3TI8E9GF\[...]).pdf' cannot be updated.

Check that the file is not currently in use, that its permissions allow write access, and that it has a valid filename.

Restarting your computer or disabling security software may also help.
The message pretty much means what it says. This isn't a problem in Zotero itself.

    Also, just for the future:
I have tried EVERYTHING, from deleting my account, zotero and even deleting all the zotero files on my computer. It is extremely frustrating.
I tried removing the entire collection (called Governance) from my online library in the hope that we could start over from scratch.
These sorts of extreme steps are not recommended, are unlikely to help, and often cause more problems.
