Not syncing attached pdfs

Hi guys,

I added Zotero desktop to my office computer (I normally use it on my laptop) and tried syncing it with my Zotero account. All the references are syncing fine but none of the attachments (namely PDFs) seem to be adding. It says:

File Not Found

The attached file could not be found.

It may have been moved or deleted outside Zotero.

But the PDFs sync fine on both my web account and my laptop!

Any ideas what the problem is?
  • please provide a debug ID for an attempt to open a PDF:
    http://www.zotero.org/support/debug_output
  • Thanks very much. The Debug ID is D2104677870. I tried the troubleshooting as well Dan but didn't manage to fix it.
  • That Debug ID doesn't appear to cover either opening (as requested by adamsmith) or syncing (as requested in the document I linked to).
  • I tried again to open a PDF and this came about:

    The Debug ID is D393278655

And once to try and sync my database (just using the top right arrow, where the red exclamation mark keeps appearing):

    The Debug ID is D375939656

I hope that is more useful?
  • The file 'C:\Users\[...]\AppData\Roaming\Zotero\Zotero\Profiles\[...].default\zotero\storage\[...]' cannot be created.

Check that the file is not currently in use, that its permissions allow write access, and that it has a valid filename.

Restarting your computer or disabling security software may also help.
You should be seeing a message like this if you click the sync error icon. Since this is a work machine, there's a good chance this is due to security software, though since this is Standalone, I'm not sure why it'd be interfering. (Usually security software interferes with Firefox's ability to write to the disk, but Standalone usually works.)
