Problem using "Add Item by Identifier" DOI and ISBN

Dear all,
I'm having problem getting citation info when using "Add Item by Identifier" for DOI or ISBN
"Zotero could not find a record for the specified identifier. Please verify the identifier and try again"

The Debug ID is D1478808528. (DOI) if needed will generate debug for ISBN

Hope someone can clarify that for me

"Zotero uses the following databases for looking up item metadata:WorldCat for ISBNs, CrossRef for DOIs, and NCBI PubMed for PubMed IDs." (zotero documentation)

Are you sure that the items are included in the systems listed above?

Try this DOI. 10.1016/j.aap.2010.08.005

It works on my system.

If I use CrossRef resolver http://www.crossref.org/05researchers/58doi_resolver.html it finds the publication correctly. It does not through Zotero though.
I tried your DOI and it worked through Zotero.
The one I'm having issue is OECD doc
10.1787/uranium-2009-en

Interesting. I tested 10.1787/20725310 (a more recent item from OECD) and it doesn't work in Zotero either. I can get to the documents via

http://dx.doi.org/10.1787/20725310 and

http://dx.doi.org/10.1787/10.1787/uranium-2009-en

Someone with more experience will need to comment.

I can use the magic want to bring your reference into Zotero using the ISBN for your document. Try 9789264047907 or 9264047905 the ISBNs for the pdf and print versions, respectively.

I wonder why Zotero doesn't obtain the metadata when using the DOI. There seems to be a record for the document because we can find it when using the doi number online.

Thanks, the ISBN worked today, yesterday I had problems with that as well.
However DOI still does not work with the magic want. Let's see whether the debug info will materialise in solution.

Zotero relies on crossref for data; crossref relies on the publisher. Data for non-journal article sources is particularly problematic. In this case, the item has an "other" type & nests information under book_series_metadata & it may have other "quirks.". The WorldCat information is richer, in any case.

I can't resolve DOIs for Science or Nature today. I've tried a whole bunch, and have restarted Firefox in case there was some weirdness there. No love. Here is an example DOI for a 2011 Science article: 10.1126/science.1201865. I'm using Zotero 3.0.8 with Firefox 17.0 beta on OS X 10.8.2.

see top of the forum: Firefox 17 won't be supported until it comes out of beta on November 20th.

I've been using the beta channel for years and Zotero has worked fine. I'll try to switch back to the release channel now...

IIRC, Firefox 10 would have been the last case where a beta didn't work with Zotero before the final release (in that case Zotero had a beta version that did).
It depends on the changes FF is making between versions - a lot of the time they don't change anything that affects Zotero, but especially with the newer more rapid release cycle, if changes do affect Zotero, compatibility will typically not happen before the final release.

You also need Zotero Standalone (http://www.zotero.org/download/) to take full advantage of Zotero with Chrome.
