is there a way to change the local pdf directory?

Hi, we have a local (networked) pdf archive as well as the zotero structure... i'm wondering if there is a way to change the location that the local copies are stored - not to change the program location, but just the folder that stores all of the pdfs. (this way we wouldn't have to manually backup the shared pdf folder on our network.) thanks!

    not via Zotero (you can change the location of the entire data folder in the advanced tab of the Zotero preferences, but you wouldn't want to place that on a network drive).
