Upgrade StorageEditing in "information window"
Dear forum users,
I just registered here. First of all, I would like to thank the whole Zotero community (developers, the aides in the forums, the users in general...).
I have a problem editing the info of a database entry. I created the entry by "New entry from current webside" (the command might not be completely correct as I am using the german version of Zotero and try to translate it to English the best I can). The webside I used to create the entry was a pdf file, opened within my browser plugin for pdf files.
When I select the entry in the central Zotero window, I see information concerning the entry in the right window. It is possible to modify existing fields like Title. However, what I would like to do is to add additional fields like Author, Type,... .
Maybe I just cant see it because it is so obvious. I didn't find an answer in multiple manuals offered by educational institutions. Another reason might be, that what I want to do disagrees with the Zotero philosophy.

This is an old discussion that has not been active in a long time. Before commenting here, you should strongly consider starting a new discussion instead. If you think the content of this discussion is still relevant, you can link to it from your new discussion.
So the first thing to do is right click on the item in the center pane, then select "Retrieve metadata for pdf."
If none is found, right click it again, but this time select create parent item. Now you can edit the items in the right-hand pane.
If this doesn't do what you want, please post back.
