Searching for missing info?

Hello!
Is it possible to search a vast number of references for missing information? I would like to be sure all 600 have URLs and abstracts - is there a way to search for citations with specific fields unpopulated? Or do I have to go through them manually?
  • Not currently, but this is on the roadmap for Zotero.
  • No, I think that's possible (if a bit hackish) - what we can't currently do is auto-complete them.

    For URL, do
    URL --> does not contain --> .
    Since every URL contains at least one periods, this will find all items without a URL.

    On abstract, if you just search for a couple of common letters and set the search to match all you'll find all items without an abstract.
  • Oh sorry, I misread. I was thinking that you wanted to go one step further and auto-populate the missing fields from the web. Thanks adamsmith for correcting me.
  • I am not sure I follow how to search for the URL - when I enter:
    URL --> does not contain --> .
    nothing comes up. I tried it all three ways you can search (Everything; Title, Creator, Year; All Fields and Tags). I made sure there was at least one missing a URL...
  • that's advanced search - click on the magnifying glass
