Group/My library storage limits

Well I am in a pickle.

I was keeping My Library for my own personal use, while creating a database for an organization. I went over the 300MB when these are combined...and so everything I've added in the Standalone has not uploaded to the server/website.

So I tried to log in with an alter ego, with the plan to delete "my library" from that profile. But it tells me that it will sync...and I am not sure if that means it will replace the group library I have been working in, in the Standalone, with the last updated version from the server? And so by taking the alter ego route I will lose everything that was "extra" and not yet updated to the server due to storage space limits?
  • One option might be while logged in to the website, where I check the storage, there is an option to purge library. It says it will purge a "personal library" - does this mean it will only purge the "My Library" associated with the account, and not touch the group library?

It sounds that way but I want to be 100% sure...
  • Don't go the first route. Switching account information in your client is almost always a bad idea (it is _not_ like logging in/out. It's more akin to changing the account associated with an e-mail client like Thunderbird or Outlook Express).

I believe purge will do what you want, but wait for Dan to confirm.
  • Too late - I already had the alter ego...I thought that would make it easier to keep my personal things and the organization's things separate...so that's the problem. I started with one login (this one) then created another when I began intensively working on my own personal projects. I shortly thereafter realized it was silly to switch back and forth, so I have been using the second one more consistently for some time. I then hit the 300MB, but still have things to update to the server, yet can't because its full. I could delete my library in the second one in order to reduce the overall size, which should let it upload, but that would be a real bummer.

    Hopefully the purge will work...
  • Ok so deleting the trash took care of this problem too! Thanks!
