Zotero libre office extension with OS 10.5.8

Used software:
Mac OS 10.5.8
Zotero Stand alone version 3.0.8
Libre office version 4.0.4.2
Libre office Firefox extension "Zotero LibreOffice Integration" 3.5.6

Problem:
The tool bar appears on LibreOffice, but the functions do not work. When I try to add a citation, I become following error report from Zotero:
"The version of the Zotero LibreOffice Integration component installed within LibreOffice.org does not apper to match this Zotero Standalone version. Would you like to reinstall it?"
I click OK, but it does not work. I have tried with the manual installation from LibreOffice>Tools>Extension Manager without succes.
Following informations may help:
1) With OpenOffice it worked perfect
2) I cannot install the new version of Zotero Standalone because it is not compatible with my OS version.
Any help?
Thanks.
  • ideally, upgrade to a newer version of OS X, it's only a couple of bucks (25?) and affects not just compatibility but also security. And you'll find an increasing number of things stopping to work correctly with Zotero 3.0.8.

But you _should_ be able to manually install the 3.5.6 extension in Zotero Standalone. Download the .xpi (i.e. the Firefox extension) using right-click --> save link as and install it in Zotero Standalone under tools --> add-ons --> click on the little tools icons and select "install from file".
  • Thanks adamsmith for your quick answer. Upgrading OS X is no theme. I have tried your recommendation "tools --> add-ons -->". I can see the file icons but no possibility to select "install from file". I cannot access to them.
